Prayer

For more information contact Judy Laber.

"Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."    I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Our prayer ministry provides many opportunities for you to serve God through prayer - for the church, for others, and for yourself.  If you are interested in serving with us, please see one of the parts of prayer ministry that appeals to you.

Weekly Prayer Meetings

Weekly Prayer Meetings take place Monday mornings from 9:00-9:45. Join us as we lift our prayer concerns, church ministries, community and the world in prayer.

Prayer Walkers

Prayer Walkers walk through the sanctuary and throughout the church building praying for all the ministries, groups and individuals who will use the church building during the coming week. They pray over the pews, the music equipment, pulpit, and at each door throughout the building. They lift in prayer all who will enter that room during the week, asking that all who enter our building may be blessed by God.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

For more information contact Arlette Lettie.

Knitters and crocheters meet to make prayer shawls and lap robes. They are given to anyone in need of comfort, spiritual support, or to celebrate a joyous occasion. They symbolize the warmth of God's love and the presence of prayer. The prayer shawls and lap robes are prayed over as they are made and are placed in the SUMC Prayer Room, available to all at no cost.

No experience or equipment is necessary to participate in the Prayer Shawl Ministry! Knitters and Crocheters meet Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. in the Church Parlor. Join us for fun and fellowship while we work on our projects.

Donations of yarn are always appreciated.

Quilting Ministry

For more information, contact Karen Gulley.

Our Quilting Ministry meets on the first and third Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. Quilts are made with love for our Prayer Shawl ministry, the Worthington Children's Home, Flatrock Children's Home, and Central Ohio House of Hope. No experience is needed.
